THE DIRTY AQUARIUM BILLBOARD

The Baltic Sea is slowly suffocating, choked by algae that worsens every summer. The association Hållbara Hav, which strives to protect the almost landlocked sea, wanted to draw attention to this problem. So outside the Swedish parliament building, it installed a glass tank filled with genuine Baltic Sea water. Over 11 days, politicians saw algae invading the tank, turning it into a sea of slime. The dramatic effect challenged them to combat marine pollution. The operation was widely shared via social networks and won a Silver in the recent Epica Awards.
