Ironically, they decided to use deepfakes, often the source of health-related fake news. On TikTok and Instagram, the HealthBuster campaign repurposes deepfakes to educate rather than misinform. ReAGJIR transforms its members into influencers who previously shared false medical advice, confronting them with the real life consequences of their dubious tips. In this way, the influencers are obliged to reconsider their role. The goal? To remind people that health advice should come from qualified professionals. This clever paradox – using deepfakes to fight medical fake news – is a prescription for change.
