In previous lives, Charles was an entertainment attorney and independent movie producer. His film credits include Executive Producer of Three Seasons, the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award winner of the 1998 Sundance Film Festival. On the heels of the Three Seasons release, Charles joined the ad agency Cliff Freeman & Partners to start an entertainment group and quickly rose to the ranks of EVP. He left four years later to co-found Amalgamated.
In addition to his duties as CEO, Charles dedicates a large portion of his time to working in the political arena - advising a number of Members of Congress and sitting on the finance committee of the DSCC. He also leads Amalgamated's foray in social and environmental enterprise.
Charles grew up in Kingston, Canada and graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law.
