When Peter left college to join Doyle Dane Bernbach little did he know that he would walk the hallways with some of the greatest advertising people of all time and that the atmosphere they created in the agency would change him into a life-long ad man.
In the nearly 30 years that have passed since those days at DDB, Peter has worked in account management at several highly successful agencies (in fact, three were named Agency of the Year during his tenure) and on accounts in a wide variety of categories. His travel/hospitality experience is considerable. Most recently, he helped US Airways survive two bankruptcies and merge with America West to form a viable airline. He led the account management teams for Marriott Hotels & Resorts and their Fairfield Inn brand.
He led agency teams' efforts on behalf of numerous association clients including The Go RVing Coalition (a coalition of 3 associations), The National Association of Home Builders, The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association and The National Education Association. His leadership on Go RVing helped create the coalition and develop a funding mechanism that resulted in the industry's first national brand/response communications campaign.
Peter has also worked with clients in the package goods (Procter & Gamble, Corning Glass Works and McCormick Spice Company) and telecommunications (Verizon) categories. He led the team whose efforts generated hundreds of thousands of sales leads and lowered the average purchaser's age by nearly twenty years for the Recreational Vehicle Industry. Their work with Black & Decker's DeWALT brand was written about in the Wall Street Journal, Business Week Magazine and has been utilized as a case study by the Harvard School.
