As an innocent young man, Doug attended school at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a B.A. from the Annenberg School of Communications. He got his first job in advertising at Calet Hirsch & Spector. There, he worked as a copywriter on such accounts as Toshiba Electronics, Alitalia Airlines and Clairol. It was at Calet Hirsch where Doug learned to write, thanks to one of the legendary figures in the business, Neil Calet, who knew just when to throw Doug out of his office and when to offer a little praise.
Doug then moved to the legendary DDB, where things began to take off. At DDB, he worked on every account at the agency, including 100% Colombian Coffee, Crown Royal, Chivas Regal, Hershey’s, Volkswagen, The New York State Lottery, Clairol and Ore-Ida Frozen Foods, to name a few. Doug’s work won virtually every major creative award there is. In fact, his 100% Colombian Coffee ads even earned a Kelly Award nomination for best magazine campaign of the year. Doug was also selected by Adweek as one of the copywriters to watch.

Four years later, Doug left to become the Creative Director at Smith/Greenland, where he attempted to wake up an agency that had fallen asleep. At Smith/Greenland, Doug created the campaign of which he is most proud, a pro bono effort for a group called “Citizens For Racial Harmony.”

Soon after, Doug met Adam Hanft and helped create Hanft Raboy & Partners. He built an agency with an incredible entrepreneurial spirit filled with creative thinkers. His game-changing work around the world for clients like Match.com (US, UK, France, Spain Sweden, Australia and Japan), Ask.com (US, UK), Seatwave.com (UK, Germany), AT&T, Vimeo and Virgin Mobile, among many others, has had a huge impact on their brands and the people who love them. He’s also been heavily involved in the creation of brands that have gone on to fame and fortune. Including iVillage, Chemistry.com, Chegg.com, And 1 Basketball Clothing. The industry seems to like his work too. It’s won at The One Show, Art Director’s Club, The Effiies, The Webby’s, The Glaad Awards, Cannes, well, you get the idea.
In September 2011, Doug joined forces with Domenico to help create a new type of agency for the 21st Century. Also joining him at PI&C are Match.com, Chemistry.com, Ask.com and AOL.

Doug is the proud papa of an nine-year old girl and seven-year old boy. He lives uptown in Harlem. His other love, the Knicks, will have to wait.
