|Filosofía|| ‘Fatima’ tells the story of Madalena, a 12-year old girl who just lost her faith, and her brother Tomás, a technology fan and curious boy. Suddenly, Lily, a beautiful and intriguing girl, and Angelo, a clumsy and slightly pushy boy, appear in their lives. Lily instantly becomes Madalena's guiding light. But who will prove to be a true friend at the end of the day?|
The film will be a lively, visually attractive story exploring what really matters in life. A story about finding faith. About sometimes forgotten values in today’s bustling world. An adventure to whole aged viewers family, inspiring emotions, which will stay with them for a long time.
The events in Fatima and their 100th anniversary were the inspiration for writing the screenplay. This is also is why the story’s leading characters are children. In much the same way as a powerful religious experience influenced the lives of three little sheperds one hundred years ago, the main character in our movie will face the same values. We hope that our film will not only provide the audience with excellent entertainment, but will also give them reasons for thought and conversations about the role of faith in their lives – says Rui Pedro, executive producer of the movie and owner of the idea, CEO of Imaginew.
It’s a multidimensional, bittersweet story about love, friendship but also pain, and refusal to accept events that we don’t understand and concede. It is also a film about the Fatima Apparitions, which have continued to inspire people for the last hundred years, forcing them to ponder the meaning of life. We want our story to be visually fascinating and attractive. We want to reach a diverse audience, children but also their parents. ‘Fatima’ will be an enormous and challenging project. I hope that thanks to the way we show the experiences of two children we will be able to bring a whole new quality to the market - says executive producer Piotr Sikora of Platige Image.
We want to produce a film that would talk about important values in a subtle and understated manner. Fatima is an incredible challenge in terms of technology and visuals. There are still very few high quality, family-oriented animated feature films that would approach matters of spirituality in a similar manner. Thanks to its striking visuals, characters that the viewers can identify with, and a family-friendly narrative, Fatima can make a significant impact in the international animation scene. I believe in our times we simply need a movie like this – says Jarosław Sawko, executive producer, Platige Image.
‘Fatima’ will premiere in May 2018. ‘Fatima’ is jointly produced by Imaginew and Platige Image, with Platige responsible for production and creative part of the project.
