Originally from Jakarta, Indonesia, Maura Munaf is an up-and-coming creative and
copywriter in the US advertising industry. After a dance injury that put her professional
dance career on pause at age 18, Maura discovered a newfound passion in writing
while interning at The Jakarta Post in 2016, where she wrote over 100 published
articles. She couldn’t put her pencil down ever since.
Today, Maura shapes the voices of the world’s leading brands as a copywriter working
at globally renown ad agencies, Digitas North America and GroupeConnect. Previously,
she spent her early career working at Ogilvy, Windy Films and Sid Lee—all while
completing her bachelor’s degree in Film & Television and minor in Advertising at
Boston University. Having graduated Summa Cum Laude in January 2021, Maura has
already worked with esteemed brands and companies like Bank of America, Lenovo,
Abbvie, Peloton, Planned Parenthood, Aetna, Bose, Tory Sport and Salesforce.
With a whole career ahead of her, Maura aspires to cultivate the growth of future
challenger brands to not only bring new solutions to the world, but new narratives that
can change the way we see the world. Being one of few Indonesians in the US
advertising industry, Maura actively advocates for and connects minority creatives to
opportunities that could help them reach their full potential.
