Since the so-called liberation of Iraq began in 2003 we have been exposed to tragedies, atrocities, miseries, death of young children and women, and the suffering of innocent people. However, what the media failed to represent is the true spirit of the Iraqis and the way in which they have always managed to survive through these war stricken times. These regular people always find a reason to smile and enjoy each others company because they have come to realize that at the end of the day they only have each others support. And what better time to represent what we have never been exposed to, the true spirit of these regular people, than during Eid, when the spirit of joy and celebration is present all around. Moreover, we have chosen shots of still photography in order to mirror this notion of press photography and the mis-representation of the media.
